If that’s ivy then the reason might be because it grows like crazy and is pretty much impossible to kill without industrial chemicals.
That is probably how it all started… someone used chemicals and the Ivy mutated and turned against me. Sure I could just trim my hedges, sure, but instead I am barricading my front door and stocking up on food, water and weapons. I may even buy scissors. 😉
